Ta-dah. Here comes another semester down the pike! These pictures encompass not only the summer but the majority of my time of my first semester Junior year. Its been an action-packed time.
That would be Jim chillin' by the fire, and of course Dan with his big super soaker. We came prepared for racoons that year. Unfortunately, they did not lay seige to our camp, so we were unable to....well, super soak them.
Here's the mess hall, complete will gas grill, picnic table, and three grunts! Har. Actually, it was quite a nice structure to eat under when the situation called for it.
Dave got a Zippo lighter while we were on this trip. Uh...I guess he was a satisfied customer.
From right to left - there's Dan, who was writing the secrets of the universe into his little book in his pocket, Jim, who I bet secretly wishes he could have had a role in 'The Matrix', and Dave - dressed quite sensibly for an outdoorsman - eyeing what else but lighter fluid.
Here's me rowing a boat for the first time. The callouses lasted for...oh....3 months. Dave and Dan are in the boat ahead, and the scenery is all around. I thought it was quite cool!
This is Jodie's best friend Amy. Here she's working at a small Curch in Grand Haven as a land keeper. Pretty soon she'll get dressed up in her chemical warfare suit - plastic backpack and all - to engage the weed invaders in the parking lot. Maybe she went into hand-to-hand combat too, she IS a black belt after all.

Anyway, this is her before marriage.

This is Amy AFTER marriage.
Here's Jodie after marriage. Amy's marriage to be specific. A'int she pretty? Actually, I like her better without makeup. Why wear a mask when what is under it looks better anyway? Luckily, Jodie subscribes to this idea also, so such matters don't usually come up - except at marriages when you are forced to do odd things.
Here's Jodie again, but with her looking somewhere else.
There's my roomate Scott. Yep, roomate for the third year in a row (with a few notable breaks - like when he went to Japan for a semester). Unfortunately, he'll be leaving us next year to go get married and live with his wife. How sad! (The leaving part, not the married thing) Ah well, I suppose that happens when you find a life-partner and all....

In (not-really) related news, he's building up quite a repository of anime nowadays. Good for him. There are certainly worse hobbies out there (like skeet shooting).

That's Kevin. He lives in the apartment with me. He's big, bald, and loves football. He's actually a really good guy. I'll be living with him again Senior year. He's taking the major "Movement Science" right now - with emphasis on coaching.

This would be the female Scott is hitching up with. It's Melissa! She works at a bank right now, last time I checked is a Mormon, and was just recovering from chemotheraphy when this picture was taken (hence the very short hair - unless she decided to go retro and I didn't know about it).

I like her, she's nice.

This is Ms. Lofquist, my Tae Kwon Do instructor. She is a very good instructor, although I think I may have caught her off guard when I took this picture (time to move in for the kill! Or something!)
Here's Professor Peterman. She's so cool! I've had her for Visual Basic, Artificial Intelligence, and I have worked under her as a lab assistant for almost two years now. She's great to talk to, especially with her stories about students.

I credit her with essentially being the fountain of all cool things I've gotten while at college. By taking Visual Basic, I got to be her Visual Basic lab assistant, which gave me a great experience, a source of easy income over the college semesters, hooked me up with Diane, the all-powerful secretary of Computer Science (which essentially allowed me to get into all the classes I wanted via her influcence and speed up my college career) and allowed me to meet Jodie, a fellow lab assistant at the time, and quite a few other things.

Who says Visual Basic is worthless?

This is Bruce Klien, the Computer Science department chair - or at least he was. He's stepping down this semester. He's an odd guy, with a weird sense of humor but he actually is quite an interesting guy when you get to know him. He does know his stuff, and he does know how to teach. Pretty impressive for a tenured professor!
This is Diane, the computer science administrative assistant. She knows all and sees all. She is also omnipotent in the realm of the Computer Science Department. The place would fall apart without her. She got me into every single class I ever wanted to be in, when I wanted to be in them. I worship at her altar. I also talk to her pretty often. She's quite a cool gal.
Hey! It's Jodie's mom! She's quite talented with a guitar. She works at Hospice in Grand Haven. Heh, its probably a good thing that the work is rewarding in intangible ways, since it certainly isn't in material ways! Its what she likes doing though, so don't we all wish we could be like her?
Its fun to interact with her, she seems amused at my zany antics quite often.

Oh, and she hates Jar Jar Binks, but then, who doesn't?

My parents at Christmas time! With the cat! They are both cool. I don't see them much nowadays, which is too bad. Thank goodness for e-mail. I think its pretty amazing how well we get along, what with me being their kid and them being my parents and all. I love them both.
